Leadership
Christopher joined ECM as CEO in February 2025, bringing over 20 years of real estate investment & management experience across the Asia Pacific region. Before ECM, he was Managing Director & Head of Transactions at AEW Asia. Prior to AEW, Christopher was Managing Director & Head of Asia at Credit Suisse Global Real Estate, where he was responsible for investing and managing teams in core-plus & value-add sectors across the region.
Samuel has been with EastGate Capital Management since inception, co-leading the establishment and management of ECM’s flagship Life Science and R&D fund and all executive functions. Samuel joined ECM in 2022 from ARA Asset Management, where he led investments, business development and asset management for value-add/opportunistic private funds. Samuel holds an MBA (Honors Distinction) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Singapore.
Atsushi leads EGW’s fund management division and is instrumental in strategy, execution and deal sourcing for EastGate’s funds, securing over $750 million in acquisitions. Atsushi joined EastGate in 2022 from Xymax Group’s real estate asset management division, where he headed business development & acquisitions. Previously, Atsushi was general manager of corporate planning at Xymax in Tokyo and the head manager of Xymax’s Singapore Branch. Atsushi holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Architecture) Degree with Yokohama National University.
Charmaine joined ECM in 2025 and oversees strategic asset management, business planning and portfolio execution across ECM’s funds. Charmaine joined EastGate from UBS’s Direct Real Estate team covering investment and asset management across Asia Pacific markets. She has also held senior roles at Credit Suisse, Link REIT, and CLSA. Charmaine holds an MSc (Distinction) from the University of Hong Kong, a BA from the University of Sheffield, and is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).
Elson joined ECM in 2023 and oversees ECM’s fund operations, FX and treasury management, as well as cross-border financial structuring across Singapore and Japan. He specializes in building scalable, data-driven finance functions for real estate investment platforms. Elson joined EastGate from AEW where he was fund controller for value-add/core private funds, bringing with him 20 years of experience leading finance operations across Asia Pacific markets. Elson is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master of Science in Professional Accountancy from the University of London.
Wayne joined ECM in 2023 from CapitaLand’s Private Funds team, where he was responsible for underwriting real estate investments across Asia Pacific markets. Wayne is a key member of the investment and business development team and brings a deep understanding of both Japan and Singapore real estate markets. Wayne holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) with the National University of Singapore.
Founded the Eastgate group and its predecessor in 2006. Prior to this, Shozo was with Morgan Stanley, involved in Japanese and offshore asset sourcing in Australia including project management for the Morgan Stanley real estate funds. Shozo previously worked for Matsushita Investment & Development Corporation in Japan and abroad, managing over $1 billion of assets.
Joined EastGate in July 2012 as a Managing Director, having previously worked for Silverpeak Real Estate Japan as a Managing Director, where he was responsible for its North Asia business including Japan, Korea and China. Prior to this, Yuichi was a Principal at Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners conducting real estate fund management and asset management in Japan, Korea, China, Singapore and Thailand. Concurrently, Yuichi led a hotel management company as an Executive Director, managing more than 5,500 hotel rooms throughout Japan. Yuichi previously spent over 15 years at one of Japan's largest construction companies.
Joined EastGate in November 2015, having known and worked with the other principals for more than 15 years at that point. Prior to joining EastGate, Reid established and ran the Tokyo Investment Properties team at CBRE for over 18 years, capturing and dominating market share across multiple sectors. He has sourced and secured approximately $12 billion in transactions during his tenure at CBRE both in Japan and globally.
